This Sunday marks the Day of Pentecost, the seventh Sunday after Easter. This day commemorates the descending of the Holy Ghost upon the apostles and other followers of Jesus Christ. While not formally celebrated by the members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, this event is significant in our understanding of the third member of the Godhead and in the powerful connection to our own temple worship.

Daniel Smith, the creator of the YouTube channel Messages of Christ, has just released his newest video Understanding Pentecost and the Feast of Weeks showing the significance of the timing of this miraculous event. It coincides with the Jewish feast known as the Feast of Weeks or Shavuot. This feast commemorated the receiving of the Law of Moses seven weeks after their exodus out of Egypt. The video offers historical context and insights helping viewers consider the powerful connection between receiving the law and receiving the Holy Ghost in our own lives. It also draws on the many similarities between the events of Sinai and our own temple experience today.
